Administrators of Team Foundation version control can configure source control check-out settings to avoid multiple checkouts in a project maintained in TFS 2010. To configure check-out settings, you must have the Edit project-level information set to Allow.
- Make sure you are a Project Administrator
- Open Visual Studio 2010
- Open Team Explorer and select the team project for which you want to configure check-out settings
- Right click on the your project name in Team Explorer.
- Select Team Project Settings from the sub menu select Source Control.
- Make sure that “Enable multiple check-out” is unchecked.
